The Lakewood Soccer Program held their summer youth soccer camp from Monday-Thursday, July 16-19.
For the second straight year Lakewood has put on their completely free camp for the kids of the community to learn and enjoy the game of soccer. This camp is unlike any other as it is one of the only sports camp that has no fees or cost from beginning to end.
The Pilchuck Soccer Alliance worked alongside UK International Soccer to put on their annual summer Soccer Camp July 16-20.
The camp is open to all children aged 4-12. Along with coaching, the camp includes a camp T-shirt and personal evaluations of each player.
“We have been coaching all over the country including Hawaii, California and now here. It’s amazing to not only coach soccer but also spread culture to these very different areas of the world. On Wednesday we have an international day where the kids dress in their country’s colors and learn things about that country as well. The base is soccer, but it becomes much more than that,” said Lead Camp Coach Matt Weyman.
