SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WA— Steelheads FC are pleased to announce that Daghan “Dagi” Kesim is the first Head Coach of Snohomish County Football Club. Dagi will start immediately recruiting players and finding talent for the new adult elite men’s soccer club in Snohomish County.
Coach Kesim has been involved in soccer in the greater Snohomish area for close to 20 years. He founded Gala FC Youth back in 2013 and has helped numerous players improve their careers and move on to elite levels of play.
“Andrew (Escalante, SnoCo FC General Manager) and I visited with Dagi and we all came to a consensus that he was a good fit for Steelheads FC,” says Steelheads FC President Aaron Burns. “Dagi will bring experience and an excellence in technical training to Snohomish County FC.”
Kesim played in Europe professionally. He has experience playing and training with a couple Istanbul clubs. Dagi had several knee surgeries and at age 19 had to cut his career short. One of his players, Matt Reinikka, who plays for a D1 team and also plays for the Sounders reserves, has said this, “Training with Dagi is fun. He still has exceptional skills and he likes teaching them. I wouldn’t train with any other and you can see he was a very talented player.”
Kesim trained and coached 10 years of high school soccer for five different teams. He also coached and trained five years of college soccer and spent one year as head coach of semi pro indoor soccer club Arlington Aviators.
Dagi won ‘Coach of the Year’ with Cascade High School, where he took second place two times.
He has coached and trained for many select premier clubs over the past 16 years. He also runs his own European soccer camps and also runs classroom ‘one of a kind’ training sessions for coaches. He is considered to be one of the best skill and technical trainers in the state and in the region.
