Indoor Legend Dana Garner Steps In to Head Steelheads Men’s Indoor

Snohomish County, WA

After missing the playoffs by just 1-point in the 21’22’ WISL Season, The Steelheads look to build on a foundational year. Snohomish County Football Club have announced the hiring of Pacific Northwest Indoor Soccer Legend Dana Garner for the 22′-23′ WISL season.

Garner’s soccer career has been a lifelong passion that has allowed him to see the world and develop lifelong friendships while enjoying playing at a high level. Early on in his career, the Mountlake Terrace High School Hall of Famer not only led his select team to the National Championship Game in Indianapolis but also participated in the US Olympic Development Program from age 14-23 and was named to the National under 23 player pool.

Garner ultimately earned a soccer scholarship at Seattle Pacific University (SPU) and during his time there he regularly led the team in goals and points scored. To this day, he still ranks among the top 5 career goal scorers in program history, holding the 3rd spot in All-Time SPU assists and 5th All-Time in goals.

He was named conference player of the year and achieved multiple NCAA All-American honors. In addition to playing, he enjoyed coaching for Mountlake Terrace High School, Ballard High School, and numerous soccer camps and clinics. Dana was drafted as a first-round pick for the Vancouver Whitecaps. In addition to the Whitecaps, Dana played professionally indoors for the Seattle Impact FC MASL.

While The Steelheads continue to add on additional assistants and key coaching roles, they will be looking to Steelheads Forward and Snohomish indoor veteran Andrew Escalante to help assist with Power-Play strategy.

“Dana has great experience or indoor soccer.  He was one of the best finishers in indoor I have ever seen.  He has a drive for winning and passion to pass on his soccer knowledge. I am excited to work together!”

Technical Director of Soccer Dagi Kesim

“With a resume like Dana’s, how could we NOT bring him on. I am excited for our indoor program to have a seasoned vet with years of experience lead our guys. I think Jimmy, and Vasco (Last years coaching staff) did a fantastic job kicking off the program for us and provided such a critical foundation for our guys, who frankly were completely new to the indoor style of play. I only hope to continue to see them invloved in the program because they will always have a place in our club.
