SMOKEY POINT, WA— The Snohomish County FC Steelheads are happy to announce that Navy veteran John Morehead III (Sonar Technician Submarines First Class) of Startup, Washington (Sultan VFW #2554), has been chosen to receive a Founders Club Membership that was donated to the club in honor of a local Vet.
The Moreheads are a soccer family. Father John, daughter Julianne and son Joshua have all played and love the sport. When the Steelheads asked the public for help deciding a recipient Morehead’s daughter Julianne sent this note to the club:
Good afternoon,
I would like to nominate John Allen Morehead III to receive the donated founders club lifetime season pass and scarf for Snohomish County FC’s Steelheads. He served in the United States Navy for eight and a half years and has served me as my father for my entire life. He absolutely loves soccer so when I saw this opportunity, I instantly knew my dad would be the perfect recipient. He played soccer when he was young, and my younger brother and I also grew up playing soccer.
I played for my Jr. high and high school Varsity soccer teams while my younger brother did the same as well as played for club teams, for Edmonds Community College. Our dad loves watching soccer, whether it be our games, the Seattle Sounders, or even waking up at 3am to watch Arsenal, Manchester United, and other Premier League teams. I believe this generous donation would be best utilized and cherished in my dad’s hands. I don’t know a bigger soccer fan than him.
