SnoCo FC jumps in to support Sound Salmon Solutions

SMOKEY POINT, WA— Snohomish County Football Club is excited to announce that we are partnering with Sound Salmon Solutions (Mukilteo) to increase awareness of and participation in ongoing work to assist native fish in and around Snohomish County.

Sound Salmon Solutions (SSS) is a local non-profit organization and one of 14 Regional Fisheries Enhancement Groups in Washington State, working to involve citizen volunteers and landowners in the state’s salmon recovery efforts.

“In 2020, we celebrated our 30th Anniversary and simply couldn’t do our work without your support!” says Lisa Syravong, Stewardship Program Manager of SSS. “As an organization, we provide virtual and hands-on environmental education programs for youth and adults, salmon recovery through habitat restoration projects, coho rearing at the Willow Creek Salmon and Watershed Education Center in Edmonds, and stewardship through volunteer opportunities. Over the years, members & volunteers have enabled us to plant tens of thousands of native trees, remove and control invasive species, place large woody debris along streams and replace impassable culverts in two local creeks.”

SnoCo FC General Manager David Falk says the club will share Sound Salmon Solutions news and events on social media, and plans to engage fans, players and coaches to encourage volunteers to aid the SSS efforts.

“We are impressed with the work SSS does, and we want to give back to our community in a way that also reflects our love of the Snohomish outdoors,” says Falk. “We hope that we can be an asset to their mission and we invite all Steelheads and Silvers to check them out.”
