SNOHOMISH, WA—The Snohomish County FC Steelheads made a winning debut in the Western Indoor Soccer League (WISL) on Saturday night November 6 with a 7-4 victory over the Oly Town Artesians at the Snohomish Sports Dome.
Cristiano Whitaker scored a goal and dished out 3 assists to lead the Fish to the big win. Glenn Paden scored the club’s first ever indoor hat trick (3 goals). Devin Shull contributed 3 assists. Trevor Davoren picked up the win in goal for SnoCo FC.
The Snohomish power play killers had a good night, holding off multiple man-advantage sessions from the Artesians. The Steelheads stopped 5 of 6 Artesian power plays. The Fish were able to answer the visitors goal for goal, take the lead, and then pull away at the end.

Snohomish fell behind 1-0 early on before Paden evened the score at 13:04 of the first period on a close range shot off of an assist from Whitaker to make it 1-1.
The Steelheads took the lead 2-1 at 7:40 in the first quarter when Whitaker rolled a nice ball over the Bryce Coffin who played it forward to himself and then blasted one in.
It was all back even at 2-2 when Devin Shull put a ball in the mix that Tyler Sharp redirected to Paden. Glen tapped it home to put the fish back up, 3-2 at 9:58 in the second quarter.
It was 4-2 Fish at 3:34 in the second when Whitaker found Andrew Escalante at the far post. He roofed it home. But the Artesians responded with a late power play score to make at 4-3 at the break.
The Steelheads went ahead 5-3 with 10:08 to go in the third when Shull found Whitaker lurking in the corner. He beat the keeper on the angle. The visitors would answer to make it 5-4 going into the fourth quarter.
The Fish got two more goals in the last period and shut out the Artesians the rest of the way. The leading offensive performers on the night all combined on the 6th goal. Shull fed to Whitaker in the corner and Cristiano flicked to Paden in the box for a smash into the Oly Town goal to make it 6-4 at 13:56 left in the match.
The final Snohomish goal came at 8:13 in the fourth as Shull passed cross-field to Cesar Zavalza who blasted one into the far lower corner.
