“To even be considered is an accomplishment,” Steelheads General Manager David Falk says. “To get four points and be in the same group as so many great clubs from around the country is really special. It’s a tribute to our hard-working players and our Head Coach Dagi Kesim.”

WWPL-LOGO-LARGEThe Steelheads rose to national attention thanks to a 7-win 3-draw WWPL season that culminated in a league crown on July 21. During the regular season Snohomish scored 31 goals and conceded just 6 (one of those on a penalty kick.) The accomplishment was all the more remarkable considering the Fish had numerous injuries to their back line and rotated offensive players in and out to help defend. Further, the club uses a 3 in the back scheme under Kesim which requires just the right positioning and understanding. Through it all the Steelheads held firm.

“Our defense became a source of pride for our team,” Falk says. “The guys were willing to get back there and do what was needed for us to keep rolling. It was the key to our winning the WWPL.”
