#FishTurnFive: “Eskee” scores first-ever Steelheads goal back in 2017 (video)
Club Co-Founders Aaron Burns and Andrew Escalante stretch out before the first-ever Steelheads match on Sunday April 9, 2017 in Puyallup versus South Sound FC.
SNOHOMISH, WA—The Snohomish County FC Steelheads were founded back in 2017 and 5 years later the club is kicking strong and celebrating how it all began.
Just getting started: 13 guys traveled for the first-ever match.
Andrew Escalante helped found the Steelheads 5 years ago with his buddy Aaron Burns. So it was only fitting that he would be the very first player to put his name on the scoresheet for Snohomish County FC. It happened on Sunday April 9, 2017 at the Washington Premier FC Soccer Complex in Puyallup. The Fish played a friendly against former club South Sound FC.
The final score was not what the Fish had hoped for, but the lopsided loss was at least a beginning. Later on open tryouts added to the roster and more friendlies were played. Dagi Kesim was brought in as Head Coach and David Falk assumed the role of General Manager. The Fish were on their way.
