SMOKEY POINT, WA—The Snohomish County FC Steelheads are pleased to reveal that Lake Stevens resident and prominent Puget Sound area photographer Glen Moffitt will shoot the club’s 2019 home matches in Dick Cardinal Stadium at Lakewood High School in Smokey Point.
Glen has resided in Lake Stevens since 2002 and began photographing prep sporting events in 2011. Shooting for Washington Prep Athletics (WPA) & MaxPreps.com, he has covered almost every sport at schools in Snohomish, King, Pierce, Skagit and Kitsap counties, including district and WIAA state playoffs. In 2018 Glen also covered Seattle Sounders and Seattle Reign matches for goalWA.Net. In his spare time he also dabbles in landscape and wildlife photography.

Moffitt knows he’ll need to stay focused at Steelheads matches. “As with every sport, soccer has its own flow and photographic challenges,” Glen says. “Unlike most other turn-based American sports, soccer flows almost constantly.”
How does he do the job when it comes to soccer? “Large lenses needed for distant play must quickly be swapped to wide-angle lenses to capture close action. Constant repositioning is needed to position yourself close to where the action will be and goals are always challenging to catch, sneaking up on you with little warning and then they’re over. And it’s always fun to catch the celebrations!”
The Steelheads are just breaking in to the regional elite adult soccer world in Western Washington. Moffitt is excited to be there for the beginning. “It’s not that often that one gets the opportunity to shoot a newly formed team. I’m looking forward to memorializing that and all the fun and excitement that players, coaches and fans will experience.”
