Devin Shull (Shorecrest, Pacific U.) leads SnoCo FC with 7 goals.

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WA— The Snohomish County Football Club begins play in the Western Washington Premier League (WWPL) in 2019 – but the Steelheads have been getting together for two years and playing friendlies against clubs from around the region. (You can view the historical results page here.)

Want to know who might score the first SnoCo FC goal in the WWPL? Let’s take a look at where the Steelheads goals over the last two years have come from.

When we say the Steelheads are a true “County” club, we know what we are talking about. In 2018 the club’s roster featured guys from 16 different SnoCo high schools! (More on that later…) The goal scorers list is represented by players from 10 different SnoCo high schools. Check it out:

Fabian Panduro (Marysville-Pilchuck, Everett CC) scored 4 goals for the Fish in 2018.

Thirteen players have scored for the Steelheads. Devin Shull (Shorecrest, Pacific U. Oregon) leads the way. The tall midfielder joined the Steelheads in 2018 and opponents couldn’t stop him. Fabian Panduro (Marysville-Pilchuck, Everett CC) also jumped into the action in 2018. He scored some nifty markers, including the first match-winner of the season in Aberdeen against future league opponents Grays Harbor Gulls FC. See the video clip below:

Sean Wagner (Marysville-Pilchuck, Skagit CC) and Andrew Escalante (Lakewood, Everett CC) have each scored twice. Wagner’s goals came this year, Escalante’s last year. There can ever only be one “first club goal,” and that belongs to Escalante who got the beauty below in 2017 at (former) South Sound FC:

snohomish-county-fc-steelheads-primary-800Nine guys have a single goal each. Highlighting that list are players the club hopes to see more of in 2019, including Jason Fairhurst (Snohomish, Saint Martin’s) who joined the club later in the 2018 season. Carlos Rodriguez (Mariner, Everett CC) is one to keep an eye on. He was moved up to the front late in the season with positive results. Hector Palomera (Bothell, Edmonds CC) was a constant force for SnoCo FC in 2018, providing a physical presence and excellent work ethic. Kevin Baron (Kamiak HS) is perhaps the fittest of the Steelheads, running countless minutes for the club this year. Jesus Alvarado (Lakewood HS) gave a glimpse of his promise when he scored the first goal of 2018:

The Steelheads are organized to be the club where the best of Snohomish County can play soccer in the spring and summer, after high school, and during and after college. The building blocks for a successful entry into the WWPL are already in place. The club looks forward to open tryouts (TBA) in spring 2019 to add even more local talent to the Orange and Black.
