Protagonist Soccer catches the Steelheads

protagonistSMOKEY POINT, WA— The Snohomish County FC Steelheads are happy whenever, where ever they get press. Getting coverage is a way to make new fans, reflect on what we have already accomplished, and enjoy some exposure to a larger audience. It’s a way for the hard work of players, coaches and volunteers to be recognized.

One of the sites that has been very kind to the Steelheads is ProtagonistSoccer.com. They live for ‘small clubs’ and ‘lower league’ soccer in the USA. They are active daily across multiple social media platforms including Twitter, where they have nearly 2,500 followers.

“There is a new club less than an hour north of Seattle, and they are calling themselves “The Steelheads” after a Twitter vote. Snohomish County FC will be joining the Western Washington Premier League (WWPL) in 2019, the club’s third year of existence. They have spent the last two seasons playing non-league friendlies, picking up an all-time record of 7-2-7 against other clubs, communities colleges, and U18 and U19 teams.”

Protagonist first published about the Steelheads back when the club was not even playing in a league yet. On August 20, 2018 they shared “Steelheads and Clear Eyes.” See an excerpt above.

“Snohomish County FC has quickly taken off with their social media presence and soon enough, they’ll be flying up the ranks of top lower league kits. I wrote about the club around the time they first got up and running and now, I am revisiting the team to look at their brand new, beautiful, and unique kits. I spoke with SnoCo FC General Manager, David Falk, about the new kits, which have preorders launching today. The kits will only be available for preorder for the rest of this month, so don’t hesitate to get your hands on at least one of these gorgeous jerseys.”

Protagonist Soccer volunteer writer Aarik Long then checked back with the Fish earlier this year when new kit designs were released. Snohomish County FC: Addicted to Creativity” was a look at those new threads.
