It was a sunny afternoon before a supportive crowd with the Steelheads wearing their Hex Grey kits at home for the first time. The six goals were spread out over an 81-minute stretch of domination as the sides met for the first time ever. Luke Brezak played all 90 minutes in goal to earn the shutout.
Devin Shull got the Fish swimming in the 8th minute. Rio Alcorta made it 2-0 in the 22nd and John Troka scored a 3rd in the 35th minute. Troka’s header goal hit the side netting and found a loose overlap and went through, causing a brief moment of confusion before the referee signaled the goal.

Steelheads Player of the Match defender Marcus Swanson (cover photo) was wearing his scoring boots and made it 4-0 in the 49th minute. The Fish kept up the pressure and added late goals from Daniel Luna (87th, on a wonderful cross from newcomer Jacen Stein) and defender Cade Cooke in the 89th.
Along with Stein’s bending cross that found Luna at the far post, other assists came from Shull, Cooke, Blake Camilleri, and Fabian Panduro.
The Steelheads are now 3-0-1 (W-L-D) in WWPL play and remain tied on points for first place with Nido Aguila Seattle. Nido has a better goal differential. Those two clubs meet in the next SnoCo FC home match on Sunday June 16 for Father’s Day. Before then the Steelheads will travel to the same pitch two weekends in a row. Saturday June 1 SnoCo FC plays at Bellevue CC against BeSea FC. On June 8 the Fish return to BCC to face defending WWPL Champions Kirkland FC.
