Steelheads Bolster Back-Office In Continued Club Growth

Snohomish County, WA

In the recent weeks following the State Of The Union Gala, there has been a big push for The Steelheads to continue to build a strong foundation, build an endurable business model, and bring on quality & talented staff. All in plans to build on the club’s success thus far, and look towards potential expansion in the years to come.

“I would be doing the club an injustice trying to tackle all aspects alone…”, says Club President Dorian Lair.

With that, The Steelheads are happy to announce three very important pieces to their operations. Christina Walton (Director of Marketing), Garrett Patterson (General Manager), and Andrew Escalante (Director of Recreational Football).

Christina WaltonDirector of Marketing and Board Secretary

After being nominated, and ultimately winning the 2022-2023 Steelheads Community Award for going above and beyond her role in several aspects, Christina will be stepping into the Director of Marketing & Board Secretary role for the club.

Christina was born in Nuremberg, Germany, and has worked in several marketing positions within the Army MWR (Morale, Welfare and Recreation) program, and held positions within the community to include, including Family Readiness Groups, EFMP programs within the Army Community Services as well as the USO (United Service Organizations).

She has also been a freelance graphic designer for the past four years and recently launched a non-profit, DFRNT Not Less, promoting education, awareness, and inclusion for those on the autism spectrum. She credits her drive and inspiration to her father, Christopher Walton. Christina enjoys photography, hiking, painting, playing video games, and watching sports in her free time.

“I’m looking forward to bringing a variety of ideas as well as plans to help showcase the vision of Club President Dorian Lair as well as the Snohomish County Football Club as a whole”

Garrett PattersonGeneral Manager

After his company newly founded Second Wind sponsored the club early in 2022 to help the Fish with the Cascadia Premier League season, Patterson found himself working closely with President Dorian Lair, discussing potential plans for the future of operations for the club. Given his vast experience in managing military regiment operations and a passion for football, Garrett was offered the position of General Manager for The Steelheads this past week in an effort to continue to streamline operations and build an improved game-day experience for all 4 Steelheads Semi-Pro teams.

“I can see, as well as most people who get involved with this club, is that the club has grown quickly and is only continuing to do so… There are some really dedicated people here that are already wanting more, pushing on what can be achieved. Getting fans engaged and bringing the Snohomish County community together to support the team is going to be the main focus… Planning out future events to spread the Steelhead name… Everything at this club is already very well put together, from the coaching staff to marketing. I just want to help push a little further to get more community outreach. This includes a venue that is convenient for the community while being able to provide a professional and fun game-day experience.”

Andrew Escalante – Director of Recreational Football

Last and certainly not least, is the announcement of our new Director of Recreational Football, Co-Founder Andrew Escalante. After a number of meetings and discussions, The Steelheads Co-Founder has been chosen to lead the charge for building out the Steelheads recreational program; an entire program dedicated to giving athletes an outlet to play competitively with a bit more flexibility and fun. This program is still yet to be built out, however, it will focus on participating in and organizing trips, tournaments, and events all across the country, that includes Beach Soccer, The Icarus Cup, Futsal, and more.

“I’ve always been the go-to person when it comes organizing adult soccer in Snohomish County. Some of my closest friendships have been made from the teams that I’ve put together over the last 15 years. I definitely see this role as an opportunity to bring more people together in Snohomish County. My goal is to expand our brand across the United States and provide more opportunities for all players to experience the beautiful game at a competitive but recreational level.

The Steelheads still have several positions open within the club and have already identified two final candidates to fill the Director of Finance and Director of Sales roles within the club. Lastly, the fish have also identified 2-3 potential additions to the Snohomish County Football Club Board of Directors and should have the board finalized before the new year.
