MOUNT VERNON, WA— The Snohomish County FC Steelheads shut out the Skagit Valley College Cardinals 1-0 on Saturday April 20 to conclude their preseason. Andrew Escalante sent a cross into Kyle Aure in the 18th minute and he converted it for the lone goal of the match. SnoCo FC goalkeeper Gabe Acosta was awarded “Man of the Match” for contributing to the shut out.
Steelheads Head Coach Daghan “Dagi” Kesim talked about the match with Skagit. “In this match it was important for us to learn containment after an early goal and we did that very well,” he says. “We also tried many of our players in different positions and tried many players who did not get chances before. Winning is always sweet.”
