SMOKEY POINT, WA— Snohomish County Football Club announces that the gold star residing above the club crest for winning the 2019 Western Washington Premier League (WWPL) Championship has permanently migrated to the insignia.
As is tradition in world football, a league winner will often display a gold star above their crest after a title. This is usually retired at the end of the following season. There was no 2020 campaign for the Fish to attempt a repeat, but the club knows the time has come to move on and prepare for 2021.
“We have a crest that is suited for enhancing in this way,” says SnoCo FC General Manager David Falk. “So we are pleased that we could migrate our first star to a prominent orange ‘scale’ on the logo. In future seasons if the Steelheads or the Silvers are able to earn subsequent stars, we will continue the tradition of eventually migrating them to the crest permanently.”
