SMOKEY POINT, WA—The Snohomish County FC Steelheads had their way with the Grays Harbor Gulls on Sunday August 1 at Dick Cardinal Stadium. The Fish posted a 7-0 victory backed by a hat trick performance from Morgan West. The three standings points moved second place SnoCo FC to within 5 points of leaders Wenatchee FC. Both sides have 5 matches remaining in their 2021 Western Washington Premier League seasons. Grays Harbor fielded 10 players for the match. That number was later reduced to 9 with an injury.

The Steelheads took a 3-0 lead in the first half. Parker Van Driel scored the first SnoCo FC goal on an assist from Andrew Escalante. Morgan West was next, netting the first of his three goals to make it 2-0 on an assist from Fabian Panduro. The Fish extended their lead to 3-0 when Rio Alcorta scored on an assist from Randy Galvan.
In the second half the onslaught continued. West scored two more in a row, the first one off an assist from Tyler Sharp, the second on an assist from Billy Chissoe. Morgan had his hat trick and it was 5-0 Snohomish. It was then time for Andrew Escalante to get on the scoreboard. He did so by closing out the match with two goals of his own to make the final score 7-0. Andrew’s goals were assisted by Sharp and Galvan.
Dorian Lair in goal with his backline recorded the shutout.

The Steelheads welcomed three players from Gala FC Pro Focus Academy onto their roster for the match. Tyler Sharp, Juan Figueroa and Henry Kieneker Jr. joined the Fish in their home orange kits. Guest player Billy Chissoe (RPI, Tacoma Narrows of the EPLWA) also featured for SnoCo FC.
Snohomish County improves to 6-2-1 (W-D-L) on 20 points in league play. The Steelheads next play on Saturday August 14 when they travel to Kirkland to play the Goats of KFC at 2:30 PM at Wilburton Hill Park.
