SMOKEY POINT, WA— The Snohomish County FC goalkeeping gang are competing for spots on the regular season roster. As many as 3 of them will be picked to travel to Wenatchee for Saturday March 30th’s friendly against a new Wenatchee side.
School of 5
Coming out of open tryouts the Steelheads elected to keep 5 stoppers going into weekly training. Returning from 2018 are Steven Moseley — seen above in a 2018 candid photo — (Granite Falls High School, Shoreline College) and Alexis Regis (Ecuador). New to the club this year and trying to make an impression are Jesus Gary (Kamiak High School, Edmonds College), Colin Hauser (Boise High School, Edmonds College) and Gabe Acosta (Canyon Springs High School Las Vegas, Everett College).
Moseley and Regis are taking on leadership roles as returning Steelheads. “Mose” recently donated the goalkeeper kits for the upcoming season. Alexis has been goalkeeper coaching with Gala FC youth and also leading many of the practices for the SnoCo FC stoppers.

How do you handicap this group? It’s not an easy task as each of them has an area of skill and expertise. Each are also very different physically. There is raw young talent, and there is also experience in the bunch. There are local Snohomish guys and players from out of state playing at local colleges.
It will be fun to watch what happens in the weeks ahead.
