Steelheads splash back into action Sunday at Goddard Stadium

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WA— The Snohomish County FC Steelheads host Tacoma Narrows FC on Sunday June 10 at 1 PM at Goddard Stadium on the campus of Mariner High School. It’s the first match action for SnoCo FC since they beat Everett CC Trojans 2-0 back on May 12. Admission to the 1st Annual I-5 Challenge Match is $5 General Admission. Kids 5 and under are free. All fans will receive FREE “Support Local Soccer” stickers as they exit the match.

“This next game will be a good chance for us to see some new positions for our players against tough competition,” says Steelheads Head Coach Dagi Kesim. “Our specialty is our set plays and we really have been focusing on that the last couple weeks in training. I’m also excited to feature some of our new players. We may not be one of the best in the states yet but we definitely are one of the most organized teams in the state.”

Steelheads Roster

The new players are Jason Fairhurst (Forward), Victor Villasenor (Midfielder), Blake Camilleri (Defender)and Alexis Reggis (Goalkeeper). Fairhurst is a Snohomish High School grad who now plays for St. Martin’s. Villasenor is a Lynnwood grad who went on the play for Edmonds CC. Camilleri hails from Australia while Reggis comes from Ecuador.

In addition to the new adult players, the Steelheads are bringing up three guys from Gala FC youth club to put into the mix. Brothers Connor and Cody McWilliams along with Ahmed Elsir.

SnoCo FC regulars complete the roster for the match. Goalkeeper: Drexel Cardona. Defenders: Vlad Kutsyy, Gunnar Stohl, Hector Palomera. Midfielders: Fabian Panduro, Edgar Navarro, Devin Shull, Sean Wagner, Nate Thompson, Rio Alcorta, Kevin Baron. Forwards: Andrew Escalante, Carlos Rodriguez.

TNFCLOGOFLATTacoma Narrows FC will provide plenty of opposition. They are a newly-named club that has played previously together and found success in high-level tournaments.

Fans coming to the match can enjoy Blue Bunny Ice Cream treats on sale at a cart provided by Moonie Icy Tunes. Kick off is at 1 PM. Parking is free. The stands feature covered seating.
