Steelheads Women reveal 20 players on roster for Sunday’s debut indoor match

The Black (Home) and Magenta (Away) are ready for their debut with the Steelheads Women.

SNOHOMISH, WA—The Snohomish County FC Steelheads have selected 20 players to be on their match roster for the women’s pre-season indoor soccer match against the Whatcom Waves at the Snohomish Sports Dome on Sunday February 6 at 3 PM (Event Page Link.)

See the roster page (with photo links) here.

The Steelheads have over 30 players in training, some of whom will eventually make a weekly match roster. As they do, they will be added to the online roster page.

“We expect some players who are not on Sunday’s debut roster to make an impact this season,” says Head Coach Sean Large. Assistant Coach Corey Hendrickson agrees, adding “This pre-season roster is a chance to see some of what we have to work with and where everyone fits in.”

Promise In The Pool

There is plenty of promise in the Steelheads Women player pool. It’s a mix of eager talent and veteran players. All of them working to get on the same page and learn the finer differences that make winners in indoor soccer. More roster names will be revealed soon!

The Initial 20

Kiley Norkus has international outdoor experience and her own soccer training business. Memory Phiri has a wikipedia page tracking her career. Kaitlin MacKenzie (Lake Stevens High School) played in goal for Everett College Trojans and then The Evergreen State College Geoducks. Brooke Pingrey (Snohomish High School) is a graduate out of the Seattle Pacific University soccer program. Alicia Barker (Inglemoor High School) played her college ball at Illinois. Anna Roslander (Newport High School) scored goals up front for Eastern Oregon. Nicole Nsa has an extensive college playing record and is now also the head coach for the Everett Trojans Women.

Maggie Tonkin (Meadowdale High School) played indoor for the Snohomish Skyhawks and was named a player of the week during that span. Kiana Jacobson (Monroe High School) provides a nice bridge between the outdoor women, who have scrimmaged in the past, and the new Steelheads Women Indoor. Anna Larmore (Kamiak High School) is an all-around athlete who played college soccer in Colorado. Jordan Salisbury (Todd Beamer High School) played for Seattle University. Nikki Bowlden is getting good marks as a coach at Mariner High School. Mariah Roggow (Kelso High School) started in 23 games her senior year at Western Washington. Kylee Billings (Monroe High School) coaches youth after her years in college in Minnesota.

The initial roster seeks balance and it could come from defenders like Erika Tingley (Eastside Catholic High School) who played at the University of Puget Sound. Sarah Stochel knows the indoor game well in part to her connection to Arena Sports. Megan Jones not only competes on the pitch but is also a Physical Therapist. Jordan Lemieux (Ingelmoor High School) was MVP of her college team back in 2018. Amy Sprague scored 5 goals in a playoff match for The Evergreen State College. Shauna Marshall (Jackson High School) played club soccer at the University if Oregon and was a youth soccer coach.

These 20 players are the first to put on the Black home shirts of the Steelheads Women. It’s just a pre-season match, but it is also the beginning of life for a brand new Snohomish County Football Club team. #GoFish
