Steelheads Women to hold indoor open tryouts January 6 and 9 at Snohomish Sports Dome

SNOHOMISH, WA—The Snohomish County Football Club Steelheads will hold open tryouts for the new premier women’s indoor soccer team on January 6 and 9 at the Snohomish Sports Dome.

The Thursday January 6 tryout session will run from 7-9 PM. The Sunday January 9 session will go from 10 AM to noon. Both will be held at the Snohomish Sports Dome at 511 Maple Ave, Snohomish, WA 98290.

The Steelheads Women were recently announced as members of the new Northwest Premier League Indoor (NWPLi). The 2022 NWPLi season will kick off in February. So far teams have been announced in Bellingham (Whatcom Waves), Bremerton (Oly-Pen Force), Olympia (Oly Town Artesians) and Snohomish (Snohomish County Steelheads.)

The Steelheads Women will train twice a week at the Dome and play home and away against other league teams over the course of their season.

Indoor soccer builds skills, is fast-paced, and has both similarities and big differences from traditional outdoor soccer.

The Steelheads Women are a continuation of the former Lady Skyhawks, a team that competed most recently in the Western Indoor Soccer League (WISL), which itself is now transitioning into the NWPLi.

The Steelheads Women will announce their coaching staff soon.

The former Lady Skyhawks will play in the new NWPLi under the banner of the Snohomish County Football Club Steelheads starting in February 2022.
