SMOKEY POINT, WA–– The Snohomish County FC Steelheads are proud to announce that two of the club’s brightest young stars have committed to colleges in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC). Cade Cooke (Kamiak High School, Everett Community College) and Jacen Stein (Redmond High School, Whatcom Community College) will join up with the Seattle Pacific University Falcons and Western Washington Vikings respectively.

Cade Cooke, Seattle Pacific University Falcons
Cade Cooke was the 2019 Steelheads Rookie of the Year and played nearly every minute of the SnoCo FC Western Washington Premier League Championship season. Cooke was most-recently the Captain of the NWAC Everett Trojans. He’s known for his solid defense, long throw-ins and versatility. Steelheads Head Coach Dagi Kesim endorsed Cooke to SPU Head Coach Mark Collings. “Cade is a great all around player and has a really big upside,” Kesim says. “We will watch with great interest to see how he progresses with the SPU Falcons.”

Jacen Stein, Western Washington University Vikings
Jacen Stein made an instant impact with the Steelheads in 2019. He assisted on a goal in his first appearance and later scored two goals during the title run. His ball control and tireless efforts in SnoCo FC’s 1-0 win at Crossfire to secure the Championship in July 2019 stand out. Stein also has the benefit of being personally trained by Kesim and appearing with Gala FC in tournament victories last summer. “Jacen is a gifted guy,” Kesim says. “He has a great touch and quick mind to think ahead of the play. We are excited to see what he can do going to Western and the competitive GNAC.”
