SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WA—Welcome to the first-ever edition of “Upstream Update,” our way of sharing what is happening with Snohomish County Football Club with our community.
The third week in February was a busy one for the Steelheads. We launched our FOUNDERS CLUB program, announced Open Tryout dates, received a final batch of uniform designs, got a roll of stickers in the mail, and learned the date our inaugural club scarves are expected to arrive. Read the details below!
FOUNDERS CLUB launched
The FOUNDERS CLUB program is underway and we are very happy with the response so far! We are already at ten members in just a few days, with more waiting to be processed. Our Founders come from all over Snohomish County and beyond. Arlington, Monroe, Mill Creek, and Mukilteo fans have jumped in the stream with us. So have folks from King and Kitsap County. Keep track of the program’s progress on our FOUNDERS CLUB page! Please share this link to let more folks know about it!
Open Tryouts March 17 & 18 in Arlington
Steelheads Open Tryouts will be held Saturday March 17 and Sunday March 18 at Lakewood High School in Arlington, from 2-4 PM. Players should register and pay online now.
FOUNDERS CLUB members are invited to attend and view the open tryouts. Please join us and get a peek at the players who could make the 2018 Steelheads squad.

Uniforms? Choices, Choices
The Steelheads have been working with Stimulus Athletic to choose a template for our Main, Secondary and Alternate kits. We have been sharing the choices on our Instagram and Twitter pages. We’ll be making a post very soon about the design(s) and also presenting the space on our shirt fronts for sponsorship. Kit expenses add up. Depending on business and community response, we will either go with a single main kit, add a secondary, or if we can afford it, also have a third alternate. We expect and hope these kits will take us through 2018 friendlies and 2019 league play.
Stickers and Scarves
Sticker Mule came through with a roll of Steelheads logo stickers that arrived this week in the mail. You’ll see them used on various things. Ruffneck Scarves let us know that they expect our inaugural scarf to be done and shipped by March 12. They could arrive as early as March 15. FOUNDERS CLUB members stay tuned! If we get the scarves before open tryouts then we will have them available for you to pick up in Arlington (see above) if you decide to drop by for a view of open tryouts.
State of the Steelheads
We will end each UPSTREAM UPDATE with a brief “State of the Steelheads” comment. For February 24, 2018 the state of the Steelheads is positive. We still have much to do, but the early success of the FOUNDERS CLUB has boosted our hopes that the community will join us in the efforts to bring high-level adult soccer to Snohomish County. Please see our general club structure for ways you can get involved.
We connected this week with the Olympic Force and Grays Harbor Gulls FC about playing on April 21 away in either Bremerton or Aberdeen. It’s fun to be doing actual soccer-related discussions. Details coming after they are finalized.
We are still looking for sponsors, which will be an ongoing part of doing business. We ask for your help in getting the word out about us and connecting us with local businesses both big and small. Share this link with them.
Finally, we have been granted a Non-profit Business License from the state of Washington. This means that we can often have sales taxes waived on club purchases. It also means we are committed to giving whatever we make back to the club and our soccer community.
