BREMERTON, WA—The Snohomish County FC Steelheads Women lost their Northwest Premier League Indoor debut match 6-4 to the Oly-Pen Force on Saturday February 12 at Oly-Pen Sports.

The Force took an early lead in the first quarter but the Steelheads answered back right away with back-to-back goals from Erika Tingley and Memory Phiri. Tingley’s goal was the first-ever score for the FISH in women’s indoor league play.
It looked good for the Fish when Nicole Nsa scored to push the SnoCo FC lead to 3-1. The Force answered back though and the match was even 3-3 after the first quarter.
The Steelheads took a 4-3 halftime lead on a follow-up shot from Alma Mana’o in the second quarter. It was the last goal the Fish would score on the night.
The second half saw the Force score 3 unanswered goals as the Steelheads struggled to find an answer. A powerplay chance near the end of the match yielded several shots for Snohomish County but the Force defense kept them out.
The Steelheads will host the Tacoma Galaxy on February 19 at the Snohomish Sports Dome in their home league opener. The Galaxy outscored Oly Town 11-7 to win their first match in week one of league play.
