Who is Gala FC?

Gala FC is a youth club established in 2013 by the club’s director, Dagi Kesim. Kesim has both played and training professionally for clubs in Europe and Istabul, Turkey. Gala FC not only has the majority of its players based out of Snohomish County, but often draws talented players from other surrounding areas. As a small club, it prides itself in the number of championships and trophies its teams bring home every year.

One of the main missions of Gala FC is to make high-end, pro-level training available at prices considerably less than surrounding clubs, which is one of the main reasons Snohomish County Football Club continues to work directly with Gala and support their work.

Gala FC is committed to developing youth soccer players to their fullest potential both on and off the field.  The Club will support this process through dynamic training that encourages positive development and enrichment in the technical, tactical, physical, and psychological aspects of the game, as well as teach the importance of integrity, respect for self and others, commitment and dedication, teamwork, sportsmanship, community involvement and good citizenship, and life lessons learned from both winning and losing.  By using good governance principles, the Club exists to provide the highest quality competitive soccer experience for all its players, families, teams, and coaches.

Since its inception, Gala FC players have been awarded 65 scholarships to colleges. While their history is short, their dedication to the Snohomish County community and their players continues to grow.

Steelheads X Gala Partnership

The partnership between the two clubs has always been a deep one. The Steelheads Director of Soccer & Men’s Outdoor Head Coach Dagi Kesim is also Gala FC’s Chairman and Director of Soccer, so naturally, there is a great connection there when it comes to both club’s universal game tactics, formation, style of play, and on-field policies and rules.

At a tactical level, Gala FC provides critical training facilities in which the Steelheads hold training twice a week for both Men’s & Women’s outdoor programs and provide key coaching staff for our programs, in turn, the Steelheads take responsibility for Gala PFA (Pro Focus Academy aka Steelheads Second Team) Cascadia Premier League (CPL) fees, Game field rentals, and provide an outlet for all Gala FC players to play at the next level. More recently, in the Steelheads’ lastest season with the CPL, we saw several Gala FC players make appearances in critical matches for the Steelheads, including a match head vs local USL 2 side Ballard FC.

Looking to the Future

As another season passes, President & Chairman Dorian Lair talks about what is next for the partnership.

“As we contininue to see massive benefits between both of our clubs, I only see us becoming more alligned. One day, I hope to see the Steelheads competing at the next level, either in the NPSL (National Premier Soccer League) or USL2 (United Soccer League Division 2), where Gala FC continues to provide young, key talent for our club…. We are definiately grateful for the support Gala continues to provide us in these most recent years as our club continues to push through our growth phase.

Club President Dorian Lair

The Snohomish County Football Club thanks Gala FC families, players, and its board of directors for continuing to support our club’s journey to the top! #upthefish

What’s Next?

Coming August 20th, The Steelheads will be hosting its inaugural State Of The Union Gala & Fundraiser, where you will see several of the Gala FC players, staff, board, and families partake in the night’s events. As a side note, they will be auctioning off a 3-day stay in Tulum, Mexico! Tickets are still on sale!

Lastly, as the Steelheads continue to see growth and brand recognition, the Fish ponder a change in business structure, potentially weighing options of forming an investment group to make a push for the next level; either the NPSL or USL2 in the coming few years. If interested in being involved, please contact dorian@snocofc.com to discuss investment opportunities with the club.
