Scan This: Steelheads add QR Code Logo

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WA— The Snohomish County FC Steelheads have added a QR Code Logo to their staple of crest-related images. The scannable square is in orange with a SnoCo FC crest right in the middle. Cell phones can scan the mark and go directly to a page that displays links to all of the online Steelheads pages and social media.

“Since we have the opportunity to make one, we thought we shouldn’t pass up on it,” says SnoCo FC General Manager David Falk. “We think it’s fun to have our crest and colors in something as universal as a scanning code mark.”

How will the Steelheads use it? It’s likely to show up at matches for fans to scan with their cell phones. Later maybe stickers or magnets to spread the word. Right now the image is being posted on social media. The scans are already coming in.

You might wonder…are these marks already outdated (created in 1994) in the fast-paced world of online and mobile electronics? Not according to this report, which points out that the newest Apple phone comes standard with a scanner for them.
