SMOKEY POINT, WA— The Arlington Fish Hatchery is operated by the Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife. It is located at 17619 316th St NE, Arlington, WA 98223.
It’s just one of several in the county and there are many more around the state and the Northwest. Some are state-run, some run by native tribes, others are commercial.
Being the curious fish that we are, we of course wanted to know if Steelhead fry were hatched in Arlington. The first video below answers that question. Arlington Hatchery photos by 62alfred.

Steelhead remain in local news. GoSkagit.com has a story of a hatchery opening. Lot’s of folks were excited by the catch-and-release opportunities for wild Steelhead.
Catch AND release? Needless to say, the Steelheads approve.
