The Snohomish County Football Club Silvers are forming in 2021 as a premier adult women’s soccer team. As we continue behind the scenes work on the new team we also want to recognize the history of women’s soccer in Snohomish County. We will do this with a new feature series we call “Snohomish Soccer Spotlight.”
Theresa Wagner Romagnolo was inducted into the Snohomish County Sports Commission Hall of Fame in 2014. In this edition of Snohomish Soccer Spotlight presented by the SnoCo FC Silvers we’ll take a look at some of Theresa’s soccer accomplishments.
A History of Success

Wagner Romagnolo played at Lakeside High School where she was a multi-sport athlete, excelling in soccer, tennis and basketball. She won a state title in Tennis for the Lions.
Theresa went to the University of Washington. She graduated in 2001 after being named an All Pac-10 selection every year at the school. In one of her more memorable matches she scored 4 goals in a win over rival Oregon.
Success has come at the highest levels, including coaching Notre Dame to the NCAA playoffs four straight seasons before leaving that school back in 2018.
In January 2020 Theresa was announced as the Head Coach of the Saint Mary’s Gaels.
Some longtime fans of professional women’s soccer might know Theresa from her playing days in the old WUSA with the Bay Area Cyberrays.
It Happens Here
Theresa’s long career from youth to high school to college and the pros is a great example of what can happen right here in Snohomish County. The Edmonds native has made the most of her talent at all levels and shines as an example of how far hard work and dedication can take you. Congratulations to her on her accomplishments and continued best wishes at Saint Mary’s!
