This past week, the Steelheads named Elmer Rodriguez Cascadia Premier League women’s outdoor head coach.

Rodriguez is a seasoned veteran of the game more recently at Northwest University for 2 years in Kirkland, WA where he was the assistant coach and goalkeeper Coach. Rodriguez worked as an assistant coach for Woodinville High School women’s soccer team in 2021 and spent three seasons as the women’s goalkeeper’s coach at Santa Monica College in California. Lastly, he served as head coach of the U10 & U14 squads at XF Premier Soccer Club and U9 Head Coach at Greater Seattle Surf, all while running his own GK academy “Erod GK Academy.”
Rodriguez’s playing experience includes Goalkeeping at El Camino College from 2003-05, professional sides LA Blues, Tacoma Tides, North Sound Seawolves, and semi-pro sides Seattle Sporting FC, Kirkland Goats and OSA FC.
He was born in Los Angeles, California, and raised in Culver City. “I grew up with soccer in my blood and a passion to coach. I am very excited to start this new coaching journey with the Steelheads family.”

- What is your first impression of the club? - My first impression of the club was how organized and professional the team and staff carried themselves on and off the field.
- Why did you choose Steelheads? - I choose the Steelheads because our mission aligns with what I would like to accomplish as a coach. Love how we are involved with the community and the youth.
- What are you most excited about? - I am excited to bring my knowledge and passion to the club. Looking forward to being a part of a club that has like-minded coaches and players.

- Who is your favorite Club? Chelsea FC
Rodriguez and the Steelheads staff will be hosting women’s outdoor tryouts on February 11th & 12th at Meadowdale Playfields. Tryouts kick off at 10:00 am. Registration is open!
