SMOKEY POINT, WA—The Snohomish County Steelheads have been awarded an operational expenses grant from the Snohomish County Tourism Promotion Area (SnoCo PTA) for the 2019 season.
The Steelheads applied last fall and were awarded the grant in late October 2018. As a part of the connection the Steelheads are working with two northern county hotels to offer group rates to WWPL clubs and fans during the 2019 season.

SnoCo FC Community Liaison Ruth Nicholson led the grant application process in coordination with Snohomish County Sports Commission Sports Development Director Tammy Dunn. Steelheads General Manager David Falk delivered the grant application presentation to the SnoCo TPA Board.
“The Steelheads are grateful for the work of Ruth Nicholson and Tammy Dunn in getting this grant secured for our first season in the Western Washington Premier League (WWPL),” says GM David Falk. “We hope this partnership will be a template for connecting to businesses in the Arlington – Marysville – Stanwood – Smokey Point area and to getting SnoCo FC more involved with local communities.”
Steelheads 2019 promotional materials and website graphics will feature the logo of the SnoCo TPA and in print also the phrase: The 2019 Steelheads WWPL season is made possible in part by assistance from the Snohomish County TPA Fund.
