Steelheads CLub Restructure, Snohomish County Football Club

Steelheads Restructure For Greater Impact

We’re thrilled to bring forward exciting updates from the heart of Snohomish County’s soccer world.

In a strategic move to better serve our community and stakeholders, Snohomish County FC Steelheads has undergone a significant transformation. Our club will now be represented under two distinct missions/entities: The Steelheads Foundation & Snohomish County Football Club Inc.

Introducing: The Steelheads Foundation

Established in 2017, The Steelheads Foundation, previously known as the “Snohomish County FC Steelheads,” is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. With over 200 past and present players, volunteers, and, staff across Snohomish County, the third-largest county in the state, we operate multiple teams, including Men’s and Women’s Indoor and outdoor teams, and host several camps, training sessions and support volunteering events. Our diverse roster features players ranging from current and past professionals, NCAA and semi-pro athletes, to youth club and recreational players.

Our primary mission is to provide youth and adults, especially BIPOC individuals from lower socio-economic backgrounds, with free or subsidized professional training, facilities, and resources. We focus on offering a constructive outlet for maintaining a healthy lifestyle and engaging in enriching extracurricular activities. We do this by providing camps, training sessions, hosting events, fundraisers, and volunteering with local organizations. Moreover, we’re dedicated to promoting athletes aspiring to elevate their skills, providing them with essential exposure, leadership training, and tools necessary for success in the competitive athletic world.

Leading The Steelheads Foundation will be a few new additions to the board of directors, an announcement to come soon.

Spotlight: Snohomish County Football Club Inc.

Snohomish County Football Club Inc., officially founded in 2023, is a Washington State Corporation with a clear vision to reshape the Pacific Northwest’s soccer horizon. Our primary mission aligns seamlessly with The Steelheads Foundation, emphasizing creating opportunities and resources, especially for BIPOC youth and adults. Furthermore, our secondary objective is to create a sustainable, and profitable business focused on hosting matches, selling tickets, providing merchandise, and hosting training camps while organizing for a bid as a USL League Two franchise within the next 2-5 years. By tapping into the passionate soccer culture of the Pacific Northwest, we’re setting the stage for a new soccer golden age in Snohomish County and in the state of Washington giving competitive players the space to play, stay fit, and showcase their talent to a vast community, ultimately to get them to the next level of play.

We’re not just about soccer; we’re about community. Our initiatives span various events and clinics, ensuring community involvement, and fostering a deep bond among our supporters. We’re also committed to financial efficiency, leveraging digital platforms, committed & talented staff, and lean business processes for cost-effective operations, and building sustainable returns for all our stakeholders.

Inclusivity remains our cornerstone. Both entities pride themselves on serving marginalized communities, including LGBTQ+, BIPOC, immigrants, and at-risk individuals. We’re forging strong partnerships with local youth clubs, and organizations offering unparalleled experiences and ensuring community-driven soccer initiatives that truly make a difference.

The Road to USL League Two

It is the goal of Snohomish County Football Club Inc. and its stakeholders to make a push for USL2 in the next 2-5 years, in which the restructuring is step one in a several-step process. Reaching this is no small feat. It requires collective effort, strategic partnerships, unwavering community support, and proper investment. We’re dedicated to emulating successful models that have shown great success such as 2023 USL2 Champions Ballard FC & USL2 Northwest Division Runners-up Oly Town FC, while building robust relationships with local businesses, soccer clubs, and organizations. Financial prudence, efficient operations, and a laser-focused approach will be our driving forces over the next 2-5 years. Snohomish County Football Club Inc. is currently taking inquiries from potential investors, sponsors, and partners.
