EVERETT, WA— The Snohomish County FC Steelheads will host Tacoma Narrows FC on June 10 at 1 PM at Everett’s Goddard Stadium in the 1st Annual I-5 Challenge Match celebrating adult soccer in Snohomish and Pierce Counties. General Admission tickets will be $5.
All fans attending the match will get a free Steelheads FC “Support Local Soccer” sticker.
The Steelheads are taking a break after five weeks of action and an overall record of 5-2-2. The I-5 Challenge Match will be the club’s first appearance at Goddard Stadium after previous home matches were held at Kamiak High School and Dick Cardinal Stadium at Lakewood High School in Arlington.

“We are looking forward to hosting Tacoma Narrows FC and having a fun day celebrating elite adult soccer,” says Steelheads General Manager David Falk. “It’s great that we can host Tacoma Narrows FC as their first-ever match with that name and crest.” TNFC previously has played with much success under the name “All-Star Moving FC” (Puyallup). They gained promotion to the top level of the Greater Seattle Soccer League (GSSL) and in April advanced to the Final of the 2018 Evergreen Cup at Starfire Sports Complex.
Preston McDonald is leading the new Tacoma club forward. He’s interviewed in this article on goalWA.net. “We are participating in the match to showcase our talent against a high level men’s team and gain experience in the right type of environment,” McDonald says. “This will be our debut match as Tacoma Narrows FC and we hope to gain some attraction with a cool event like this! We like being involved with like-minded clubs and hope to build a lasting relationship through the friendly!”
