Steelheads to join WWPL in 2019

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WA—The Snohomish County FC Steelheads are excited to announce that the elite adult men’s soccer club has been accepted into the Western Washington Premier League (WWPL) starting with the 2019 season.

“It’s the next step in our development as a club,” says SnoCo FC General Manager David Falk. “It’s a stage for our local players to perform at a higher level and for Snohomish soccer fans to show their support for the Steelheads.”

Snohomish County FC was founded in 2017 and has played two years of friendlies against college teams and clubs from both the Evergreen Premier League and the WWPL. Now the Steelheads will build momentum with what is expected to be a 10-match season of 5 home and 5 away contests in 2019. The club will later announce a home venue for their league matches.

wwpl_croppedThe Western Washington Premier League was founded in 2018 by 7 original member clubs spread out as far south as Centralia and as far west as Aberdeen. Kirkland FC recently won the first WWPL championship. Other current clubs are Grays Harbor Gulls FC (Aberdeen), Harbor Force (Gig Harbor), Issaquah SC Gunners, Federal Way FC, Twin City Union (Centralia), Tacoma Narrows FC and Lacey Pocket Gophers.

The Steelheads roster over the past two seasons has featured talented adult players from all over Snohomish County and from many successful youth, high school and college programs. The club will announce WWPL Open Tryout dates in spring 2019.
