SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WA— Steelheads FC are proud to call Snohomish County our home. We are also very bullish on the talent of our local soccer players. There is no better proof of why than the current WIAA tournaments where four County high schools have advanced to the semifinals.

4A – Glacier Peak Grizzlies (Snohomish, WA)
The Glacier Peak Grizzlies of Snohomish (15-4-1) are in the 4A semifinals against Todd Beamer on May 26 at Sparks Stadium in Puyallup at 6 PM. They advanced thanks to a 2-0 win over powerhouse Skyline (see Herald story here.)
Glacier Peak is just the latest Snohomish school to produce a pro soccer prospect.

3A – Snohomish Panthers (Snohomish, WA)
The Snohomish Panthers (17-3-0) of Snohomish are in the 3A semifinals against Gig Harbor on May 26 at Sparks Stadium in Puyallup at 2 PM. They advanced thanks to a 2-1 win over Kamiakin. It was a thriller in which the Panthers scored both goals very late. Steelheads FC President Aaron Burns is a Panthers alum and played in the program.
The Panthers have been to state 18 out of the last 20 years. They went back-to-back as 4 A state champions in 2014-15.

2A – Archbishop Murphy Wildcats (Everett, WA)
The Archbishop Murphy Wildcats (20-0-0) of Everett are unbeaten as they head into WIAA semifinal play on May 26 versus Cedarcrest at Sunset Chev Stadium in Sumner at 6 PM. The Wildcats blasted Kingston 5-0 to advance.
The Wildcats are the defending 2A State Champions.

2A – Mountlake Terrace Hawks (Mountlake Terrace, WA)
The Mountlake Terrace Hawks (15-6-0) (Mountlake Terrace, WA) arrive in the 2A semifinals in the opposite bracket from Archbishop Murphy. The Hawks play East Valley (Yakima) on May 26 at Sunset Chev Stadium in Sumner at 8 PM. The Hawks hope to bring home their second-ever state title.
MLT advanced with a win over Highline, 2-1.

Steelheads FC wish all of these schools the very best as they compete for state honors! This is a year that shows the deep talent level of soccer in our county and the excellence of the high school programs involved. We look forward to seeing some of these guys become Steelheads in the future.
